The Home Computer Boom


Okay, the history shown that the first firms that made home microcomputers did very well, Apple Computer Inc. one of the first company that manufactured the first home computer in the home garage, although these machines were too expensive for most people.
However, many other computer companies were soon formed, and they got people to buy their machines by cutting prices and by persuasive advertisement, Commodore Business Machine is one of them.
A home computer will entertain, inform and educate you. It will solve your problems, carry out boring tasks and leave you with more time to enjoy yourself. At least,that is what the manufacturers said.
The public were greatly impressed, and computer sales rose rapidly. By 1981, the boom was well under way, and was soon making fortunes for many in the computer industry.
By then so many small computer company come into play, Atari Computer,Texas Instrument, Dragon, Lynx, Jupiter, Genie, Newbrain, Oric to name a few.
In the IBM Personal Computer camp (Picture above an early Tandy 1000 and IBM clone
computer) there is also many company coming up with its clone, Radio Shack, Wang, Zenith to name a few.
Almost all the computer company at the 80's are American origin. Off course there itself where the silicon valley situated and where the IC technology started.
Soon other continents caught with the craze and Asian and European company come into the picture, while looming in the distant is dark clouds of Crash....
